REGIONS

Kusatsu - located at the southeastern foot of Mt. Kusatsu-Shirane-san in the northwestern part of Gunma, this hot spring consists of eighteen public baths, each with a different effect and separate fountainhead. Most of the hot springs operate twenty-four hours a day. Tourists have a choice of many places where they can learn about nature and the history of the hot springs.

Ibusuki - the largest crater lake in Kyushu. Tourists visit from around the world to experience the steaming-hot sand baths all year long

Yufuin - a spa town with many inns on the southwestern part of Mt. Yufu-dake. The hot water is colorless and transparent and of gentle nature which are known to alleviate rheumatism, neuralgia, etc.

Dogo - Original communal hot spring bathhouses exist amid Japan's 3,000-year-old hot springs that draw many tourists from around the country and abroad.

Arima - A spectacular night view of Kobe from the Rokko Mountains. Popular Arima-onsen Hot Spring, dating back to the 8th century.

Oku-hida - Five beautiful, steaming hot springs. The mountain climbing base of the Northern Japanese Alps is located here.

Beppu - located in the central part of Oita, the Beppu-onsen Spa consists of eight hot spring areas including Hamawaki, Beppu, Kankaiji, Myoban and Kannawa, which are collectively called "Beppu Hatto". In addition, there are many modern spa resorts also supplied from the rich sources in those areas.

Kurokawa - Kuju, a "hidden village" with hot springs dispersed among the mountains. Enjoy Kurokawa-onsen Hot Spring with atmospheric inns and beautiful streets.

Noboribetsu - Plumes of volcanic gas and hot springs are this area’s main attractions along with broadleaf trees that populate the Noboribetsu Primeval Forest.
