Discover Asia by taking on a great outdoors adventure
Outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers in search of adventure will find Asia has something to fulfill their every wish. Home to a wide variety of landscapes, wildlife, and outdoor activities; from sports and ecotourism excursions to adrenaline pumping adventures, Asia welcomes thrill seekers of all types. While planning an outdoor trip to Asia consider some of the following.

China
China’s mountains and forests are the perfect destinations for visitors in search of natural beauty. Among its most popular locations are the UNESCO World Heritage site of Huangshan Mountain and Zhangjiajie Forest Park. Also called, the “the loveliest mountain of Chin,” Huangshan Mountain is renowned for its granite peaks that emerge out of a sea of clouds, uniquely shaped pine trees and crystal-clear hot springs. Zhangjiajie is popular for its striking landscape of lush forests dominated by quartzite sandstone pillars and its great variety of animal and plant species, many of which are rarely found elsewhere.

Hong Kong
Hong Kong’s green side offers endless adventure. Hike or bike the outlying Lamma Island and its miles of beautiful trails showcasing rugged mountain peaks, deep bays and hidden beaches. Reward yourself at trail’s end with a fresh seafood dinner and gorgeous sunset. Or, venture to the Northeast New Territories to explore the new Hong Kong GeoPark containing prehistoric volcanic rock formations. On foot or by boat, examine the park’s unique land forms dating back 400 million years ago.

Japan
Most people know that Japan is an island nation, but few know that it is 80% mountainous as well. In winter its slopes become a snow-covered wonderland and paradise for skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts. Season can start from as early as November and lasts as late as May on the vast mountain ranges making one of over 500 ski courses a choice destination for those needing a bit of flexibility for their vacation plans. Hokkaido and Nagano are some of the most popular famous ski spots and provide skiers with unforgettable winter experience with perfect powder snow, amazing food, friendly locals and the natural hot springs.

Korea
For the global traveler looking for a unique experience, the Jeju Olle walking paths should rank top of the list. The 125 miles of connecting paths take travelers along the south coast of Jeju Island. Inspired by the famous Pilgrim’s Trail in Spain, the Jeju Olle features many hidden routes with access to forests, mountains, beaches, remote places and unrivalled views of Jeju’s volcanic landscape. The route is divided into twelve sections and it takes about 12 days to complete all of them. Camp sites are provided along the way or visitors can also stay with some of the local communities.

Macau
Definitely not for the faint hearted, the Macau Tower Skywalk is today the tallest point in the world for Bungee jumping. But the scariest moment may not be the jump at all; the circular walk one must take to the jump point appears to be without a rail making adventure seekers feel like they could fall off the 764-foot tall tower at any moment. Have no fear, the world’s first overhead safety system protects all visitors.

Philippines
With no less than 7,107 islands to explore, sea kayaking offers an up close and personal encounter with the beauty of the Philippines. Prime spots are the 220 plus islands known as the Calamian Group. There, nature lovers will witness soaring palm-fringed limestone cliffs, home to numerous small lagoons crammed with indigenous water lilies and other exotic flora and the indigenous Tagbanua tribes. Kayakers and divers also have the opportunity to visit the deep turquoise Coron's Barracuda Lake, which is framed out of the open ocean by towering karst walls.

Singapore
When the sun goes down in Singapore the animals come out to play in the world’s first wildlife night park. With more than 1,000 nocturnal animals, it’s an experience not to be missed! Take a tram or walking tour around the eight geographical regions featured in the park and observe the animals as they graze and hunt in their natural environments. You can also experience a host of shows and attractions as you make your way around the park, including the wondrous Creatures of the Night Show, an amazing half hour demonstration of the animals’ predatory and survival skills.

Thailand
Mountain bikes were invented to navigate the kind of serpentine roads, complete with sky-high vistas and deep valleys, of the country’s northlands. Add a few more details to this mountainous picture, such as dirt trails running alongside rivers, tarmac descents that deliver roller-coast-ride thrills, stopover at Buddhist temples surrounded by luxuriantly green forest, and overnight stays at hill tribe villages, it’s alluring indeed. Stops at such places as elephant camps and the eerily beautiful caves of Chiang Dao should give exhausted riders their second wind.

Why Wait? Go Now.
